PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 4 September 2026

1. Who is responsible?

Responsible for the data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Monika Groth
Writer and director
c/o Reuther Media GmbH, Zossener Str. 41, 10961 Berlin, Germany
Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

You can find further details in the legal notice. No data protection officer has been appointed, because the legal requirements for this are not met.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The data is processed in a data centre in Nuremberg and therefore within the European Union. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

3. Server log files

When this website is called up, the web server automatically processes information that your browser transmits: the page requested, date and time, the amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources and is not used to identify individual people. The logs are overwritten at regular intervals and are as a rule no longer available after 30 days at the latest. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (technically faultless and secure operation).

4. Cookies

This website does not use any marketing, advertising or statistics cookies. Only technically necessary cookies are set: a session cookie of the content management system and a token protecting the contact form against cross-site request forgery. They contain no profile data and become invalid when you close your browser at the latest. The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Because no cookies requiring consent are used, this website does not need a cookie banner.

5. Contact form

If you get in touch via the contact form, I process the data you enter – name, email address, optionally telephone number and your message – in order to answer your enquiry, to tell you about a project, to invite you or to stay in touch with you. Mandatory fields are marked; you also have to give your express consent to the processing before the form can be sent. I do not pass your data on to third parties.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and for contract-related enquiries Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. If you are still under 16, a parent or guardian has to consent as well. You can withdraw a consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.

Your entries are sent by email to my mailbox and are also stored in the form database of this website. I delete them as soon as your request has been dealt with – in the case of project participation at the latest three months after the end of the project – unless statutory retention obligations stand in the way. The form database deletes submissions automatically after 365 days.

6. Spam protection

To protect the form against automated submissions, the website gives your browser a small computing task (proof of work) that is solved in the background – you do not have to answer a picture puzzle. The procedure runs entirely on our own server; no data is transferred to third parties, no cookies are set and no user tracking takes place. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection against spam and misuse).

7. Contact by email or telephone

If you contact me by email or by telephone, I process your details solely in order to deal with your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them as soon as the matter has been dealt with and no retention obligations exist.

8. No web analytics, no tracking

No reach measurement and no analysis of your usage behaviour takes place on this website. Neither Google Analytics nor comparable analytics, advertising or tracking services are used, no usage profiles are created and no automated decisions are made.

9. No social media plug-ins, no third-party content

No social media plug-ins, map services or video platforms are embedded. The video on the theatre page is delivered from our own server. Links to other websites (such as monikagroth.de or stark-gemacht.de) are simple references: only when you click on such a link is a connection to the respective provider established.

10. Fonts

The fonts used are delivered locally from our own server. There is no connection to third-party servers, in particular not to Google Fonts.

11. SSL and TLS encryption

This website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser beginning with “https://” and a padlock symbol being shown. Please bear in mind all the same: transmitting data over the internet is never entirely without risk; nobody can guarantee absolute protection.

12. Recipients and transfer to third countries

I only pass your data on where this is necessary to fulfil contractual or legal obligations. Recipients are our hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH as a processor (section 2) and the operator of the email service, ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, through which form and contact emails are sent and stored in the mailbox. No transfer to countries outside the European Union takes place.

13. Your rights

You have the right to information about the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21) and to withdraw a consent you have given with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). An informal email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is enough for this.

14. Right to complain to the supervisory authority

You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, www.datenschutz-berlin.de.

15. Changes

This privacy policy will be adapted if the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here at any given time applies.
