Kulturspielraum Writing develops creative writing workshops with young people on their own topics, voices and stories. At the centre is writing as an artistic form of expression: free, scenic, lyrical, narrative or performative.
The workshops can take place as a compact workshop, as part of a project or alongside the school year. Possible formats are creative writing, screenwriting, poetry, songwriting or poetry slam.
Artistic direction and way of working
Monika Groth takes care of the artistic direction of the writing workshops. She sets the thematic frame and the first impulses. The young people work with their own observations, experiences and questions and develop texts in different forms out of them.
During the working process Monika Groth accompanies the development of language, form, rhythm, character and attitude. She gives writing impulses, supports the condensing and structuring and helps the young people to carry their texts further, to sharpen them and, if they want to, to present them as well – read, spoken, performed or taken further on film.
Experience
Monika Groth comes from screenwriting and has been working with language, scene, character and structure for many years. She writes screenplays, prose, poetry, plays, song lyrics and poetry slam texts.
As a writer, director and lecturer she accompanies writing and development processes from the first idea to the fully worked-out form. With Inner Clarity Writing she has also developed a writing format of her own that uses writing as an artistic and clarifying process.
